Alabama football: 3 reasons the Tide will beat No. 11 Texas in Week 2
2. Bryant-Denny is the Dungeon of Doom
As aforementioned, this year’s contest is being played in Tuscaloosa, the home of the Crimson Tide. As such, the Tide will have home-field advantage against Bevo and Co. Not only will the Longhorns be walking into a hostile environment of more than 100,000 screaming Alabama supporters, but also the aura of having to play a Nick Saban-coached squad.
I say this, because according to On3, during the Saban era, Alabama has gone an astonishing 102-8 in games played in the friendly confines of Bryant-Denny Stadium. That’s a winning percentage of nearly 93 percent, across an absurd 16-plus season span. In other words, Bryant-Denny is a dungeon of doom for visiting teams, and if you’re the opposition, then you might as well chalk the game up as an automatic loss.
Also, let’s be honest, can you trust that a Steve Sarkisian-led squad is going to be one of the seven percent to come out of Tuscaloosa with a “W”?
Now this leads me to my third reason Alabama will beat Texas.
