It was a stampede in Boulder on Saturday afternoon, with Shedeur Sanders capping off a Heisman performance with a tribute to his father.

Saturday afternoon was a banner day in the Sanders household, and for the Colorado Buffaloes.

The Deion Sanders experiment continues to be a success, with the Buffs getting their second win of the season in very convincing fashion. At no point during the 36-14 blowout win did Nebraska seemingly stand a chance, and anyone left doubting Colorado needs to do a serious bit of soul-searching.

Nobody had a better day than quarterback Shedeur Sanders, though.

Sanders added to his Heisman Trophy campaign with a three touchdown performance that saw him pass for 393 yards and no turnovers. It was more than just the stats he put up, as Sanders continued to be absolutely electric to watch and played to a growing audience of believers in what the Buffaloes are doing so far this season.

Perhaps the best moment came late in the game, when Sanders both paid tribute to the past while fully establishing that the future is now in Boulder.

After letting three other Colorado players get into the endzone, Sanders kept the fourth touchdown to himself and truly put an exclamation point on the afternoon.

Not only did Sanders score from six yards out, but he paid tribute to his father by hitting the iconic Deion Sanders shuffle to celebrate.

That wasn’t even Sanders best play of the game. Earlier in the fourth quarter Sanders went full Mahomes when he scrambled around to keep a two-point conversion alive before hitting his man in the endzone.

It was ultimately ruled that the ball hit the ground and the pass was incomplete, but the magic of it all is something that can’t be taken away.

That’s sort of been the deal with Colorado so far this season.

Anyone still under the impression that Deion Sanders coming to town is a gimmick needs to reckon with the fact that the Buffaloes seem like the real deal. It’s more than just good football being played at Colorado, there’s an entirely different energy around the program and it’s already a thrill to watch only two weeks into the season.
