There’s an old country saying, “If you want the bull, you get the horns.” That is precisely what you get when you hire Deion Sanders. While most people see the show as a negative, the administration in Boulder is loving every minute of what’s going on with Colorado football.

When Coach Prime was signed, the university didn’t have the money. Well, the alumni responded resoundingly:

The Buffaloes sold out its season tickets for the first time in 27 years. If Prime were a WWE superstar, he’d be world champion because he can “talk people into the seats.” That’s the show. Many people don’t understand that his goal was to make Colorado relevant. If you are a certain age, you remember names like Darian Hagan, Kordell Stewart, (the late) Heisman Trophy winner Rashaan Salaam, and Michael Westbrook.

That was the last time there was buzz in Boulder, and that was over 30 years ago. Prime knew that he needed to generate national excitement in a place that was dormant for a long time.

We’ve found out there is a lot of steak to go along with that sizzle. Prime is doing more than just talking; he’s building a program.
