Who’s the celebrity picker for College GameDay Week 3, Colorado vs. Colorado State?

It’s Week 3 of College GameDay and fans from across the country will be tuning in to see how excited fans in Boulder are to get some national attention for the first time in years.

OK, so Colorado has gotten attention over the past few years for all the wrong reasons. The Buffaloes have been one of the worst teams in all of college football, even going 1-11 a year ago, firing Karl Dorrell in the process. During the dark times, no one expected the turnaround of Colorado to feel this instant.

In fact, Deion Sanders has led the Buffaloes to a surprising 2-0 record with wins over TCU and Nebraska to start the season.

Everyone seems to be excited about Colorado these days. We even saw some celebrities in Boulder last week for the Buffaloes’ first home game of the Sanders era. We’ll see another one on Saturday as the guest picker on College GameDay.

College GameDay selects The Rock as the guest picker

In a surprising move, GameDay selected Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the guest picker on this week’s show in Boulder.

Why is this so surprising? Well, The Rock has no ties to either school.

Usually when College GameDay makes its guest picker selection, it’s a prominent member of the home school’s fanbase or alma mater. The Rock doesn’t fit that category. He was born in California and played college football for the Miami Hurricanes before becoming a professional wrestler and then one of the most popular actors in Hollywood.

Colorado fans probably feel a little shafted by this pick, but at least they’re getting GameDay to come to town during a week in which there are far better games.
