Colorado football: Shilo Sanders scores first TD, embraces with dad (Video)
Colorado football has been playing this season out like it was written in Hollywood.
For years, the Buffaloes had been one of the doormats of college football. No one was respecting Colorado anymore and it was a sad time for the once-storied program.
Then the Buffaloes hired Deion Sanders, brought some elite talent to Boulder with him, and returned excitement to the great college town.
After a 2-0 start, Colorado is No. 18 in the country and the Buffaloes hosted in-state rival Colorado State on Saturday night. Early in the game, Colorado fans got to witness even more magic.
Colorado football’s Shilo Sanders scores, embraces with dad
Early in the first quarter, Shilo Sanders had the best play of his young Buffalo career after coming over from Jackson State with his father.
Colorado State stepped back to pass and Sanders jumped the route and took it 80 yards to the house. Chaos in the stadium ensued as the crowd exploded and Shilo celebrated in the end zone with his teammates with a nifty dance before finding his dad on the sidelines for an embrace.
Just watch the awesome moment:
The best part about this whole play was that Sanders nearly picked off a pass the play before but it was ruled incomplete as it touched the ground before he corralled it. It would have been a cool moment at that point as it would’ve halted a potential Colorado State scoring drive near the red zone.
And then he shook off the almost-pick and ensuing excitement because he thought he had it, and picked the very next pass off and took it 80 yards to the house. He’s clearly a resilient dude.
This Colorado season is going to have a movie written about it. I can feel it.
