Colorado football: Travis Hunter injured on dirty hit by CSU player (Video)

If you’re staying awake late on Saturday night, you’d be witnessing one of the most electric and intense rivalry games that Colorado State and Colorado football have played in years.

As you probably know by now, Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell took what many believed to be a shot at Deion Sanders. He clarified that he was talking to his players and not directly at Deion which caused some controversy this week.

So you could say that there’s some chippiness going on between the in-state rivals.

It’s been a while since these two teams really went at each other like this, but it’s always fun to watch when there’s jawing and trash-talking back and forth.

There was no shortage of that on Saturday.

But the chippiness did go too far at one point.

Colorado football’s star goes down with injury from dirty hit

Travis Hunter is one of the biggest stars in college football as a two-way star for the Buffaloes. He’s a great lockdown cornerback as well as a sure-handed receiver. And he’s probably somewhere in the Heisman conversation right now.

Following an incomplete pass, though, a Colorado State player clearly didn’t have any respect for the young star, hitting him directly in the chest while he was defenseless.

This led to an injury to Hunter.

While Hunter was laying on the ground, Shedeur Sanders ran up to the defense of his favorite target, getting in the Colorado State defender’s face. He knew it was dirty, and so did everyone in the building.

Keep an eye on this game tonight, folks, it’s getting seriously chippy.

Hunter did return to the game.
