Colorado vs Oregon: How to watch, odds, injuries, weather, and history
On the heels of a hot 3-0 start, Colorado football travels to Eugene for a battle with the 10th-ranked Oregon Ducks.
It’s rare that a 21-point underdog is the bigger story heading into a matchup, but that just proves the star power of Deion Sanders and Colorado football at the moment.
The Buffs are 3-0 in this young season and have proven to be the biggest story in the sport in quite some time. Colorado games have drawn higher TV ratings than some of the biggest matchups and brands in college football, including that Alabama-Texas showdown two weeks ago.
The program has earned it, with stellar play and larger-than-life personalities. Coach Prime is authentic every step of the way, and his team has already surpassed most of the college football media’s expectations.
They’re led at quarterback by Sanders’ son Sheduer, who is putting together a strong case for Heisman candidacy.
There is, however, a reason that Oregon is favored by 21 points. The Duck passing game has been electric as Bo Nix puts together a Heisman campaign of his own. The running game has been equally dominant, with the Ducks’ top three backs all averaging over 7 yards per carry.
This will be a significant measuring stick for each of these teams going forward in 2023.
If Oregon is dominant, it doesn’t undo any of Colorado’s early success, but it gives us a better idea of where they sit in the Pac-12 hierarchy. Perhaps it will cool the hype on the Buffs when looking ahead to matchups with elite teams like USC and Utah, but they’ve already shown they can compete with very good teams.
If this game is tight, well, somehow Colorado has still been under-hyped.
