2. Haynes King will out-duel Mitch Griffis

Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King is off to a hot start for the Yellow Jackets, and he’s bringing something to the quarterback position at Tech that hasn’t been seen in a while: big-game experience. King transferred in from Texas A&M, where he played against SEC competition in 10 games prior to arriving at Tech.

Right now, King leads the ACC in most major passing categories, including touchdowns and passing yards.

After three seasons behind former Wake quarterback Sam Hartman, it is finally Mitch Griffis’ time to shine. It is now his team and he has taken full ownership through leadership and stellar play. His leadership was on display last weekend as Mitch threw three second-half touchdown passes and Wake Forest rallied from a 17-0 halftime deficit and beat Old Dominion 27-24.

While both quarterbacks are off to great starts one can’t discount the 10 games that King started in the SEC. This is Griffis’ fourth start. Expect King to throw for another 300 yards and multiple touchdowns in this offensive show between two high-powered offenses.
