After three weeks of bye games, it’s finally time to get into the nitty-gritty of the college football season. For Penn State and Iowa football, a massive opportunity to start the conference schedule with a win lies ahead. Both teams have banner expectations, and this is step one to achieving them.

Iowa is seen as one of the favorites in the Big Ten West for good reason, as the Hawkeyes snagged quarterback Cade McNamara from Michigan to revamp their struggling offense. There have been some troubles, but Iowa comes in at 3-0.

Penn State has been projected by numerous sportswriters and analysts to make a run at the College Football Playoff. To get there, the Nittany Lions need to win the East division and get by Michigan and Ohio State, something it has been able to do only once under James Franklin.

The game will be the annual “White Out” game at Beaver Stadium and will have a national TV audience on CBS. This marks the first year of the Big Ten’s historic TV rights deal with CBS, NBC, and FOX. Iowa makes its first appearance on CBS since the 1997 Sun Bowl. Penn State played at Auburn on the network last season.

Without further adieu, here are three bold predictions for Iowa vs. Penn State in Happy Valley.
