Texas A&M football hosts Auburn on Saturday afternoon and it looks like the Aggies are going to be playing with a sense of urgency after losing to Miami in Week 2.

The Tigers are 3-0 on the season but have been lightly tested.

The Aggies are going to have home-field advantage in the first SEC test of the season and this is going to have everyone’s attention at noon on Saturday.

Here’s why the Aggies will come away with a big win.

3. Payton Thorne will crumble in first SEC road game

When you talk about lightly-tested players, Payton Thorne is the first one that comes to mind. Dating back to his days at Michigan State, he struggled whenever he wasn’t surrounded by elite talent, especially at running back. When he isn’t, it’s a problem.

Thorne has yet to really have a solid game this season, passing for 282 yards and a touchdown against Samford, but he had fewer than 100 yards against Cal and just 141 against UMass.

This is his toughest test yet and he’s going to struggle.

The Texas A&M defense has been solid this season and this is Thorne’s first true road game as an SEC quarterback and we’re going to see him crumble under pressure.

Texas A&M will make Thorne see ghosts on Saturday.
