Texas A&M football: 3 reasons the Aggies will beat Auburn in Week 4
1. Jimbo Fisher is coaching for his job
An underrated aspect of this game is the fact that Jimbo Fisher is likely coaching for his job. He’s been on the hot seat all offseason and heading into the 2023 campaign and that loss to Miami really had people jumping ship more than they already have.
The Aggies are a proud program that expects greatness and they haven’t had it in a while. Fisher has been a disappointment, for the most part.
Now that he’s sitting at 2-1 on the season and in desperate need of a big win against an SEC foe and an improved season after going 5-7 last year, if he loses to Auburn at home, he’s in major trouble.
That alone is going to ensure that he draws up a masterful game plan on both sides of the ball.
Fisher is coaching for his job and his players know it. If he goes out and loses to Auburn, he may be gone. They’re going to go out and win for him.
This may seem like an obvious reason, but the sense of urgency will be there on Saturday afternoon.
