3 Takeaways from Alabama’s convincing win over Ole Miss
2. Jalen Milroe turned things around
After struggling mightily against Texas and being benched for the South Florida game, Saturday was a get-right game for Jalen Milroe.
The Alabama football quarterback finished the day 17-of-21 for 225 yards and a touchdown, and his biggest play of the day came over halfway through the third quarter when he found Jalen Hale in the end zone to put the Tide up 10.
This was a massive day for Milroe. He didn’t set the world on fire, but we’ve forgotten that you don’t have to do that at Alabama. If you take what the defense gives you, get the ball in the hands of your playmakers, and avoid mistakes, you’ll put in your team in position to win. He did just that.
The Alabama football defense was elite on Saturday, and Milroe played accordingly. Remember, Greg McElroy won a title in Tuscaloosa. Milroe doesn’t have to be Bryce Young or Tua Tagovailoa. He just has to play smart football.
