I predicted that Ohio State would be ranked in the top five last week, surpassing a USC team that was on a bye.

I will be vindicated this week.

Ohio State dominated Western Kentucky last week and I thought it was impressive enough to move from No. 6 to No. 5, but apparently, AP voters disagreed. Can’t disagree now.

The Buckeyes went into South Bend and picked up a huge win over Notre Dame. This was one of the classic games of the season so far and it completely lived up to its billing. Ohio State was down 14-10 until the final drive when the Buckeyes scored a touchdown with one second left and didn’t allow Notre Dame to get another real shot.

Kyle McCord just continues to be solid and this Buckeye team is tougher than we thought. You could see that this team was playing with a chip on its shoulder and Ryan Day’s rant after the game proved that.
