1. What’s next for Florida State football?

This afternoon was not always pretty, but the ‘Noles got the job done. Last week against Boston College was their survive and advance game. Today was their validation game. Their road win proved that blowing out LSU in Week 1 was not an anomaly. Florida State did not lead until the game-winning score.

Florida State playing more man coverage was the difference in the second half. Head coach Mike Norvell knows they have to be better on third down. Going 4-for-13 is not going to cut it moving forward. Florida State plays three straight at Doak Walker, including hosting No. 18 Duke.

What’s next for Clemson?

For the school where “best is the standard,” Clemson already has two conference losses. Cade Klubnik played well, but he has to cut the critical mistakes. He did not feel the pressure on the scoop and score. He has to know down and distance in the overtime play. That was an RPO; he should have given the ball to Will Shipley.

People will focus on those two plays, which were critical mistakes, but Klubnik is young and still learning a new offense. Not everyone can do what Trevor Lawrence did.

Clemson travels to arch-nemesis Syracuse next week.
