Florida State football: 3 reasons the Seminoles will beat Clemson in Week 4
By TJ Heyder
2. This is the “Rise of Mike Norvell ” game
The underlying meaning of this game goes miles beyond any standard matchup we’re accustomed to seeing. It’s not just about the two talented teams going head-to-head in the regular season. This is about Florida State overstepping Clemson as the program to beat in the ACC, and Mike Norvell dethroning Dabo Swinney as the best coach in the conference.
Norvell had a rough first two years in Tallahassee, but he’s got Florida State exceeding in every area right now. The Noles currently hold the No., 6 recruiting class for 2024, per 247Sports. Recruiting is picking up after their first 10-win season since 2016, and with the way Florida State is playing currently, more blue chips are going to continue heading Norvell’s way.
Clemson sits behind Florida State in the 2024 rankings with the No. 15 class. Not only are the Seminoles playing better, but they’re recruiting better now, too.
We’re going to look back in a couple of years and remember this day as the day that Clemson football collapsed.
