8. Sam Hartman, Notre Dame

Hartman’s season stats are really impressive. Hartman has tossed 14 touchdowns and has zero interceptions. But he only had one last week in the loss to Ohio State.

Hartman threw for only 175 yards and completed 17-of-25 passes. It wasn’t a bad performance but the Fighting Irish only scored 14 points and that’s not really elite. The Ohio State defense is good but if Hartman had been better, the final drive wouldn’t have happened.

7. Cameron Ward, Washington State

It’s time for college football fans to learn the name of Cameron Ward because he’s a dude. Ward has 14 touchdown passes on the season and last week, in a win over 14th-ranked Oregon State, he was simply spectacular.

The Beavers defense has been outstanding but Ward and the Cougars moved the ball up-and-down the field at will. He completed 28-of-34 passes for 420 yards and four touchdowns. Ward is third in college football in passing yards. He has 13 touchdown passes (4th in CFB) and zero interceptions. He’s completed 74 percent of his throws and averages 9.8 yards per attempt.
