Ranking college football’s top 10 quarterbacks after Week 4
4. Bo Nix, Oregon
After watching Oregon dismantle Colorado on Saturday, it seemed to justify moving Nix into the top five this week. He did throw an interception last week in the 36-point win over the Buffaloes.
Nix is completing 79.4 percent of his passes this season. He’s got 11 touchdowns and ranks just outside the top 10 in passing yards. Nix hasn’t run as much this season as he did last year. However, when needed, I’m sure he’ll tuck and run.
3. Jordan Travis, Florida State
Clearly, this list of college football quarterbacks isn’t all about stats or Travis wouldn’t be this high. But tell me another dude that’s beaten two teams as good as LSU and Clemson away from home this season. In those two games, Travis accounted for eight total touchdowns compared to just one interception.
Clemson nearly pulled the upset and maybe Travis isn’t ranked as high if the Seminoles don’t win. Yet, his team did win and he’s completing 61 percent of his throws for 11 touchdowns and just one interception.
Quarterback play is about more than gaudy numbers and Travis is still elite in my book.
