Maryland football: 3 bold predictions vs. Indiana in Week 5
By Brad Schultz
Through the season’s first four weeks, Indiana and Maryland football are heading in opposite directions.
The Terrapins are off to a perfect 4-0 start after dismantling Michigan State 31-9, in East Lansing.
Meanwhile, Indiana comes off of an uninspiring performance against Akron, needing four overtimes to defeat the Zips in a 29-27 thriller.
Let’s get bold ahead of Saturday’s game in College Park.
3. The Indiana offense continues to struggle
After four games, the Indiana offense has shown no signs of improving. The Hoosiers have averaged a measly 21.7 points per game, and their highest point total came against Indiana State, an FCS team.
Inconsistencies at the quarterback position haven’t helped the cause at all. Brendan Sorsby began the season as the starter, but his inconsistent play led to Tayven Jackson taking over. The Tennessee transfer has shown potential as a dual-threat option but has yet to put it all together.
The run game has been decent, racking up 108 yards per game, and it will need to continue to produce.
Unfortunately, the schedule doesn’t get any easier for the Hoosier offense, with trips to Michigan and Penn State on the horizon, as well as a tough task against an improved Maryland defense.
