Quinn Ewers will throw for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns

The tale of the tape in this game will be how the Jayhawks defense will stack up against the potent Texas offense that is averaging 35 points per game which is 38th in the nation, and amassing 432.8 yards per game, 43rd in the country.

Texas football is scoring quickly on their possessions this season, so that’s part of it. With the substantial depth of Texas, it will wear on the Jayhawks team, who have less depth on their roster.

Kansas ranks 63rd in the country in team defense, allowing 22.8 points per game. Opposing teams average 3.3 yards per rush and 93.0 yards on the ground per game. The Jayhawks have allowed 296.8 passing yards per game, ranking them 22nd in the NCAA.

Defense is not a strong point of emphasis when it comes to the Jayhawks, and the main reason why they were able to pull away from BYU last Saturday was the turnovers. If Ewers can protect the ball like he has done all season long with zero interceptions, it could be an explosive afternoon.

Xavier Worthy (19 rec. 252 yards), the team’s No. 1 wide receiver for the Longhorns, is one of the fastest players on the field in any contest he is in. You have to be careful about keeping him in front of you. I can foresee Cobee Bryant, the Jayhawks’ best cornerback and reigning Defensive Player of the Week, being on him most of the game. The bottom line is this: the Texas Longhorns have many weapons that Ewers can throw to, and Kansas will have a hard time controlling them for an entire game.
