The Louisville Cardinals are fresh off a win against NC State, in which they improved to 5-0 for the first time since 2013. Notre Dame football improved to 4-1 with a big road win over a ranked Duke team. Notre Dame will travel to Louisville this Saturday and it is one of the biggest games of the season for both teams.

Notre Dame football is looking to keep moving past their heartbreaking loss to Ohio State two weeks ago and moving ahead from last week when they beat Duke in a game they probably should have lost, but ultimately won 21-14. Notre Dame is looking to be a playoff team come the end of November and if they want to get there they will most likely need to win out the rest of their schedule. They need to beat Louisville to do that.

Louisville is 5-0 and 3-0 in the ACC for the first time ever, and the Jeff Brohm era could not have had a better start. Louisville has not beaten a true top team, and the best win they have is probably last Friday night when they defeated NC State 13-10. If they win on Saturday then they will prove they are a top 20 team in college football.

The moments for each of these teams is huge. If the Cardinals win this game they are most likely propelled into the top 15 and are looking in one of their best years in recent memory. Along with showing that with Jeff Brohm and Louisville can be a powerhouse in the ACC. While Notre Dame can prove they can be a playoff team by winning a tough game on the road and helping Marcus Freeman prove he is the leader of this Notre Dame football team.

Here are 3 reasons why the Louisville Cardinals will upset the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
