Texas and Oklahoma football will face off in the 119th meeting between the two schools this upcoming Saturday in the Red River Shootout. Texas has been riding high since its start-of-the-season defeat of perennial juggernaut Alabama, while Oklahoma has been solidly defeating a slew of lesser-tier opponents.

The Sooners will face their first true test of the season after easy wins against Arkansas State, SMU, Tulsa, Cincinnati, and Iowa State. Since beating the Crimson Tide in Week 2, Texas has taken care of business against Baylor and Kansas to begin conference play during its last season with the Big 12.

The Sooners will join the Longhorns in departing for the SEC for 2024, making this year’s meeting the final one as a Big 12 contest.

Looking to restore its recent dominance in the Red River Rivalry, Oklahoma football will face No. 3 Texas this Saturday with a lot on the line.

After the month of September, the Longhorns have reached the nation’s No. 3 ranking in the AP poll, their highest position since 2009. That year’s Texas squad reached the national title game.

Oklahoma had won four in a row against the Longhorns until last year when Texas seemingly unleashed a decade’s worth of frustration against the Sooners with a resounding 49-0 victory. What will Oklahoma have in store for Texas in 2023?

It’s time to get bold.
