LSU football: Refs miss clear false start leading to go-ahead TD for Mizzou
Refs can’t decide games, right? That’s what fans always try to tell themselves, but if you’re an LSU football fan, you’re having a hard time believing that.
Saturday was already somewhat of a nightmare for LSU as the defense didn’t show up in Columbia against Missouri. They gave up 25 first-half points and found themselves down by five heading into the fourth quarter. But many would argue that the deficit should not be five if the refs actually did their jobs right.
In fact, the refs missed a massive, obvious false start late in the third quarter near the goal-line for Missouri. This would’ve moved Missouri back five yards instead of giving it the touchdown it scored on that play as a result.
Horrible.
Refs miss huge call leading to Mizzou’s go-ahead TD
As Missouri was lined up inside the 5-yard line, senior left guard Xavier Delgado got a head start, flinching before the ball was snapped and the refs somehow missed it.
The play ended up as a touchdown run, giving Missouri the 31-27 lead before an extra point.

How do you miss that as a ref? There’s one right behind the offense, staring right at the center who’s snapping the ball. How can you not see the guy right next to the center clearly moving early? Every single defender in the area was even pointing to him.
There were a number of bad calls in this game, including a missed late hit on Jayden Daniels in the end zone which led to an injury.
LSU fans are having a field day on social media because of these refs.
