13. UCF (3-3, 0-3 conference)

UCF had a bye week this week, but they remain at the bottom of the Big 12 with zero wins against anyone in the conference. They go into the week facing an undefeated Oklahoma Sooners team in Norman. UCF will need to find something that works for them against a dominant OU defense, but I see this one being a blowout in the opposite direction.

12. Houston (3-3, 1-2 conference)

This was undoubtedly one of the better games of the week, coming on a Thursday night. Houston stuck with West Virginia throughout the game and won on a last-second hail mary. It was a beautiful pass. Unfortunately, Houston hasn’t had much luck against the rest of the conference so far. They have a tough game this week at home against Texas, with the Longhorns coming off a deserved bye week.

11. Baylor (2-4, 1-2 conference)

Baylor had a bye week this week and is sitting at a single one-point win in the Big 12 against UCF. The Bears have had a disappointing showing thus far in 2023. They are up against Cincinatti this week, who is still looking for the first win in the Big 12 conference.

10. Texas Tech (3-4, 2-2 conference)

Texas Tech’s offense fell apart this week against Kansas State. Well, the defense did as well. Tech quarterback Jake Strong threw three interceptions, and the defense gave up five (FIVE!) rushing touchdowns to Kansas State freshman quarterback Avery Johnson. They do have a chance to change the tide this week with an away matchup against BYU.
