The defense will do just enough against the Utes

The Southern California defense has been much maligned this season, and frankly ever since Lincoln Riley stepped foot on campus.  However, the unit has put in some stout performances this season, albeit against inferior foes in Nevada and Stanford.

Still, they’ve shown the ability to stifle teams, and whilst this form doesn’t linger for long, the defense realistically just needs to be able to get a handful of stops to win most games, thanks largely to the aforementioned effectiveness of Caleb Williams and the rest of Southern Cal offense.

With the Trojans playing at home, and at night, coupled with the fact that this is a wounded unit coming off the backs of the brutal loss to Notre Dame last weekend in South Bend, I expect this group to fight on.  Led by a pair of former five-star recruits, according to 247Sports, defensive tackle Kori Foreman and cornerback Domani Jackson, the Trojans will get the necessary stops needed against Utah en route to Caleb and company doing their thing in leading USC to victory.
