The season is just rolling along now and it’s shocking to believe that we’re actually in Week 8. And that means each College GameDay is going to be at an increasingly meaningful game.

Saturday’s location might just be the best we’ve seen this year.

The crew will be headed to Columbus as the No. 3 Buckeyes will face off against No. 7 Penn State in what feels like a Big Ten East elimination game. The loser of this one will have a ton of ground to make up in the race for the conference title, but there are still opportunities left for both teams.

Ohio State and Penn State both sit at 6-0 on the season and while this isn’t officially a playoff elimination game, it will definitely hurt one resume big time.

Before we get into the game, let’s talk College GameDay.

Who will be the Week 8 College GameDay guest picker?

Ohio State fans are going to be thrilled with this week’s guest picker choice. The crew opted to go for a recent player and one who has had a ton of success in matchups with Penn State.

CJ Stroud will be this week’s picker.

Stroud was a stud for Ohio State over the past two seasons and was selected by the Houston Texans in the top five of the 2023 NFL Draft and he’s currently a leading candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

With Ohio State, he torched the Nittany Lions in two meetings.

In fact, he was 26-for-33 with 354 yards and a touchdown in a 2022 win at Penn State and in 2021, he was 22-for-34 with 305 yards and a touchdown. Not too shabby.

Fans will be thrilled to see him back in Columbus. This is some good juju.
