After Week 8 of the college football season here are our updated College Football Playoff projections, as well as bowl projections for each game.

The College Football Playoff race got a little more clarity this past week. Ohio State defeated Penn State, strengthening its resume, while Michigan looked dominant.

Florida State reinforced itself as a playoff team with an impressive double-digit win over 16th-ranked Duke, while Utah kept its slim College Football Playoff Hopes alive.

We are getting close to our first release of the College Football Playoff rankings. In the past weeks, we have been projecting the top four playoff teams.

However, now that we are eight weeks in, it seems like a good time to add complete college football bowl projections.

So, here are the updated projections for the College Football Playoff, the New Year Six Bowl Games, and bowl projections for all 41 postseason games in the 2023-24 season.

Rose Bowl: Michigan vs. Oklahoma

Sugar Bowl: Georgia vs. Florida State

Thoughts on College Football Playoff projections

Michigan and Georgia look like the top two teams in college football. Ohio State got another impressive win this week and the Buckeyes have a legit shot at being a top-4 team, even if they can’t beat Michigan. Florida State isn’t far behind Michigan and Georgia though. Washington and Oklahoma have the inside track on the No. 4 spot. But if those teams lose games, it opens the door for a team like Ohio State, although Texas is a team to watch too.
