New Year’s Six College Football Bowl Projections

Cotton Bowl: Texas vs. Oregon

Orange Bowl: Penn State vs. North Carolina

Fiesta Bowl: Washington vs. Ohio State

Peach Bowl: Alabama vs. Tulane

Thoughts on New Year’s Six Bowl Projections

The Fiesta Bowl will wind up with a Big Ten-Pac-12 matchup featuring Michael Penix Jr. and the Huskies as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Both of those teams could be on the outside looking in on the College Football Playoff. I don’t expect Washington to go undefeated. I don’t think Oklahoma will either.

Ultimately, I still think Texas has a great shot. If the Longhorns win out, and beat Oklahoma for the Big 12 title game, I see them getting the fourth playoff spot over a one-loss Ohio State team.

The win at Alabama is going to look really impressive by the end of the year. At any rate, there’s a lot still up in the air, but the top four contenders for the College Football Playoff in my book on the outside looking in are Ohio State, Washington, Alabama, and Texas.
