Big Ten Football Power Rankings after Week 8
3. Penn State (6-1, 3-1)
Drew Allar’s first big game didn’t go well for the Nittany Lions who completed just 18-of-42 passes. Penn State scored a touchdown in the final 30 seconds but prior to that final drive, there was nothing doing. A lot of Penn State fans thought this was their year, but after Saturday, it feels like another New Year’s Six Bowl game at best for James Franklin.
2. Ohio State (7-0, 4-0)
Marvin Harrison Jr. reminded us that he should probably be in the Heisman Trophy conversation. He’ll be one of the first players selected in the NFL draft and his touchdown against Penn State was one of the best moments in his career. The game was over at that point and he’s the one dude that made a game-changing play in that slugfest. Despite all the noise surrounding Michigan, the Buckeyes still have a lot to prove on the field against the Wolverines.
1. Michigan (8-0, 5-0)
Michigan State used different methods of communicating its signals last Saturday night and they still got destroyed 49-0. Lots of Big Ten football fans are saying Michigan cheated to win the past two years. I guess we’ll find out in the next month because if the Wolverines beat Penn State and Ohio State after this, it will be hard to say the success was due to any alleged sign-stealing.
