Pac-12 football power rankings: Washington survives, Utah has USC’s number
By Dante Pryor
It can’t be right what I’m reading here
No one believes in all this stuff no more
Our ideas don’t see eye to eye
Get your press with a pocket full of lies
Telling everybody every word is true
One day soon, they’re gonna see through you. (Oh, listen now)
I got your number, you can fool some people some part of the time
I got your number; I aint ever gonna toe that particular party line
I Got Your Number by Cock Sparrer
Welcome back to the Pac-12 football power rankings on the corner of the official “Ralphie Runner Training Facility” and the “Trojan Sword Fighting Academy.” Speaking of those Trojans, the Utes have their number. The losses have been close — for the most part –but 0-3 is 0-3. Quarterback Caleb Williams wasn’t spectacular.
Being outplayed by a walk-on says more about the USC defense than it does last season’s Heisman Trophy winner.
The Huskies won their stinker against Arizona State. First-year head coach Kenny Dillingham is proving there’s more than one program out west with hope for the future. Those young men play hard for their coach.
Oregon got the job done against Washington State. At 1-3, the Cougars are trending in the wrong direction. The Ducks and Huskies seem to be on a collision course toward a rematch in the Pac-12 title game.
However, Oregon State, Utah, and USC could have a say in who plays in the title game at the Death Star in Vegas.
So, to UHaul boxes, moving trucks, and going out with a blaze of glory, here are the Pac-12 Power Rankings heading into week nine.
