No. 12: Dino Babers, Syracuse Orange

Dino Babers is one of the most interesting coaches in the ACC, and he continues that trend this season. Syracuse started 4-0 this season and then dropped 3 in a row to Clemson, North Carolina, and Florida State, where they scored a combined 24 points in all 3 games combined. Babers did the same thing last season, where he got Syracuse to a 6-0 start but then finished the season on a 1-5 streak.

Babers team has not been playing any resemblance of good football lately, and it shows with their winless 0-3 conference record. Babers isn’t a bad coach, but he does seem to have a hard time turning his teams around when they are struggling. Babers needs to figure it out quickly before his seat starts to warm up again.

No. 11: Jeff Hafley, Boston College Eagles

Jeff Hafley looked like he was on his way out of Boston after their 1-3 start, but since then the Eagles have won 3 games and have looked good. You do have to look at who they have played though. Boston College beat Virginia and Army in 3-point wins and beat Georgia Tech last week 38-23. In a game where the Eagles outscored Georgia Tech 21-0 in the 4th quarter.

Hafley seemed to hear the noise at least a little bit because, since a 56-28 drumming at Louisville, the Eagles have been playing better football. Hafley has been better in the past few weeks, and if he can get Boston College to a bowl game his job might be saved. His seat remains hot, and until he beats a quality opponent I can’t put too much trust in him as a head coach.
