No. 10: Pat Narduzzi, Pitt Panthers

Pat Narduzzi is coming off one of his best 2 seasons at Pitt in his tenure there, so it’s only fitting that he would start 1-5 this season. I think Pitt’s season this year is more a Pitt thing than a Narduzzi thing, but if you’re 1-5 you probably aren’t doing too much good coaching either.

Narduzzi coached his team to a top-15 win over Louisville 2 weeks ago, but last week’s late loss to Wake Forest showed that the top-15 win may have just been a fluke. Pitt nearly beat Wake and lost on a last-second touchdown 21-17 to Wake. Narduzzi is not having a good year with Pitt, and although based on this year he has been bad, his past years with Pitt make it hard to put him any lower.

No. 9: Dave Clawson, Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Dave Clawson has turned around this Wake Forest program in his years there, but this season has been a different story. The past 2 seasons have been fantastic for Wake and they have been near the top of the ACC, however, at 4-3 this season Clawson looks to be on a down year. It will be even harder for Wake to make a bowl game this year and they will have to win some tough conference games to do so.

There are two different storylines for Clawson here:

“Has Wake Forest fallen back down”

“An off year for Wake Forest”

By season’s end, we should figure out where Clawson and Wake stand on these 2 different storylines. But for now, Clawson stands as one of the better coaches in the ACC, but this season he is a bit behind from where he usually is.
