Folks, we’ve finally made it. The first College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Tuesday which means the AP Top 25 is officially irrelevant moving forward. A committee of experts will decide the rankings. Hopefully they get it right (dozens of teams will claim they didn’t).

The noon slate wasn’t the best as Kansas and Oklahoma faced off as the biggest game of the afternoon. The Jayhawks gave the Sooners all they could handle and this one went down to the wire. In other noon games, Florida State dominated Wake Forest, and Penn State had a tougher time than expected putting away Indiana.

Florida was hoping to make a statement against a Brock Bowers-less Georgia team in the world’s largest outdoor cocktail party, but it was all Bulldogs in Jacksonville.

The biggest shock of the day had to be Kansas’ upset win over Oklahoma in Lawrence even with Jalon Daniels sidelined. It feels like the Sooners choked away a golden opportunity to make the first top four in the initial playoff rankings and now they’re likely to be outside of the top 10.

The first playoff rankings are sure to cause some controversy after another wild week.

What will the first College Football Playoff Top 25 look like when it’s released on Tuesday?
