Oregon was all the way down at No. 8 in the AP Top 25 heading into Week 9, but I think we’re going to see the playoff committee show the Ducks some major respect. We have to remember that this team is a late-touchdown away from being undefeated with a win at Washington.

Bo Nix has been one of the best quarterbacks in the country and this offense is just putting up some wild numbers, even against a great defense like Utah’s in Week 9.

Oregon was expected to beat the Utes, especially after it was announced by Kyle Whittingham that Cam Rising would miss the rest of the year, but no one thought they would dominate to this degree.

The Ducks will be one of the top beneficiaries of the College Football Playoff’s first official rankings.

We’ve seen the playoff committee rank teams ahead of ones they’ve lost two with similar records in the past, so the precedent has been set. I think Oregon moves ahead of Washington.
