Florida State was facing an interesting matchup in Week 9, going to Wake Forest to face a team that would be pushing for a sneaky upset bid.

The Seminoles had no problem with Wake Forest, however, dominating from start to finish and winning by 25 on the road. This was a win that proved that Florida State is a serious playoff contender and not just a pretender through eight games. The Seminoles are now 8-0 and they will be in that top four when the playoff rankings come out.

Jordan Travis may have put himself back in the Heisman conversation with this performance, passing for 359 yards and three touchdowns and Trey Benson was a monster, accounting for just under 200 total yards.

Florida State has to be in that top-four range, it just all depends on if the playoff committee thinks they’re worth a top-three spot for now. I’m going with No. 4 here.
