Michigan probably needs this bye week more than any team in the nation. After a massive investigation has been launched into the program for a potential sign-stealing operation, the Wolverines are busy trying to avoid getting slammed by the media which is a wild thing to deal with during an 8-0, title-worthy season.

Michigan has made back-to-back playoff appearances and it looks poised to make a third this season after beating rival Michigan State 49-0 in East Lansing. This team is just extremely talented.

Will the playoff committee punish the Wolverines for all of this sign-stealing drama? I doubt it. If anything, they may move them down a single spot and move Ohio State up. But there’s nothing to justify this without further evidence coming out.

Either way, Michigan needed this week off and they’ll get some good news on Tuesday from the playoff committee.
