College Football Rankings 2023: Projected playoff Top 25 for Week 10
BYU has had a rude welcoming to the Big 12 this season and their only ever matchup with Texas as members of the conference didn’t go quite as planned and the Longhorns didn’t even need Quinn Ewers who was sidelined with an injury on Saturday.
In fact, Texas shut down BYU offensively, holding Kedon Slovis and the Cougars out of the end zone with a 35-6 win.
Maalik Murphy did a solid job in place of Ewers, passing for 170 yards and two touchdowns on 16-of-25 completions and this just goes to show that this team has depth at every position, including quarterback.
The Longhorns improve to 7-1 on the season with the win and despite losing the Red River Rivalry earlier this month, they’re going to hop right over the Oklahoma Sooners who lost to Kansas on Saturday.
Texas is getting hot at the right time.
