The start of the season for Colorado football was electric. The Buffaloes were the talk of college football after knocking off reigning national runner-up TCU on the road.

And then Colorado beat Nebraska and actually jumped into the rankings.

This was quite the start for Deion Sanders and Co. after the Buffaloes finished just 1-11 a year ago. The over/under for wins this season was set at 3.5 for Colorado and the Buffaloes have already surpassed that thanks to the addition of Sanders, his sons, and one of the best roster overhauls in college football.

We’ve seen guys like Travis Hunter, Shedeur Sanders, and Shilo Sanders star for Colorado and engineer this 2023 turnaround.

But the Buffaloes will be without Shilo for the remainder of Saturday’s game at UCLA.

Colorado football star ejected for targeting

Shilo Sanders has been a rising star on the defensive side of the ball this season and he’s been oozing confidence along with his brother Shedeur as well as Hunter.

Confidence has led to some undisciplined play, however.

In fact, Shilo was ejected on Saturday for trying to lay a massive hit on a UCLA receiver and he even taunted after he was flagged for targeting.

UCLA was driving at this point in the game and the Bruins had a chance to tack on some points after leading 7-6, but they missed a 24-yard field goal so Shilo dodged a bullet when it comes to any blame for points on the board.

But this was still a really unfortunate hit and the fact that he taunted afterward makes it look worse.

Fortunately, Sanders won’t have to miss the first half of next game since this ejection came during the first half of the UCLA game.
