This week’s SEC football power rankings focuses on whether Missouri can topple Georgia from its reigning position. Will LSU be the team that finally breaks Alabama’s winning streak?

The business end of the season is now upon us, and as a result, four teams in the SEC had the luxury of enjoying their off weeks. The Southeastern Conference got to celebrate “The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.” One school got its first conference win of the year, and two other schools took part in the “Battle for the Barrel.”

Let’s put aside the significance of preseason polls for a moment.

Let go of any memories or thoughts about what occurred during the previous season. Focus on ignoring recruiting rankings and not judging teams solely based on projected strength. This week’s SEC Power Rankings focuses only on the happenings within the unclear boundaries during games.

In our Week 9 power rankings, as is customary, we reward winning and discriminate losing, so let’s jump right into it as we analyze and respond to the eight weeks of football that have transpired within the conference.
