What a game we have in Piscataway as Rutgers football is leading No. 1 Ohio State 9-7 at halftime. This was a game that was on everyone’s radar heading into the weekend.

The Scarlet Knights are one of the teams being considered for the AP Top 25 but a win would put them in the playoff rankings next week.

Greg Schiano has really done a great job in his second stint with the program.

And it’s because of plays like the impeccable quarterback sneak he ran in the first half against the Buckeyes to get deep into Ohio State territory.

This was one of the best QB sneak plays of all time:

Obviously you can see that it’s not your traditional QB sneak as Gavin Wimsatt hands it off to his running back, but it’s set up like a “toosh push” and the defense is treating it as such. Wimsatt takes the handoff and acts like he’s going to lean forward into a first down, but he hands it between his legs to his running back who takes it deep into Ohio State territory.

Genius play.

Rutgers football has No. 1 Ohio State on the ropes

This was one of the plays that led to the 9-7 halftime lead for Rutgers and if the Scarlet Knights win, they can look back on this one and smile. Either way, this play needs to be in everyone’s playbook.

Ohio State was just ranked No. 1 by the playoff committee this week and it’s starting to look like the Buckeyes are a bit fraudulent in that spot.

Of course, a dominant second half could change everyone’s minds, but this is not a good look for the No. 1 team in the country that was heavily favored on the road.
