New Year’s Six Bowl projections

Cotton Bowl: Texas vs. Penn State

Orange Bowl: Ohio State vs. Louisville

Fiesta Bowl: Washington vs. Tulane

Peach Bowl: Alabama vs. Oklahoma State

Thoughts on New Year’s Six Bowl projections

Oklahoma State is tied for first in the Big 12 standings with Texas. The Cowboys play three of the worst teams in the league, meaning a 10-2 finish is likely. Do that, and the Cowboys will likely earn the final New Year’s Six Bowl berth.

Tulane is now back in our New Year’s Six Bowl projections after Air Force took a tumble at the hands of Army. James Madison and Liberty are also undefeated, but the College Football Playoff committee has Tulane ranked in its top 25, so I’m going with the Green Wave.

Louisville has three un-ranked foes remaining and if the Cardinals win those games, they’ll play Florida State for a shot at the College Football Playoff in the ACC championship game, while the Orange Bowl would serve as a consolation prize for Jeff Brohm in an impressive year one.
