9. TCU (4-5, 2-4 conference)

TCU had a rough game with multiple turnovers. Quarterback Josh Hoover threw for 353 yards, a touchdown, and 2 interceptions. The running game did not work well for the frogs, only gaining 87 yards on the ground. I’m fairly certain the opossum seen sneaking onto the field had more yards than TCU did. They face off against Texas this week in primetime at a chance to upset the Longhorn’s chances for a spot in the Big 12 Championship.

8. Texas Tech (4-5, 3-3 conference)

Texas Tech came up with the win this weekend against TCU. Texas Tech controlled most of the game, going up 20-7 at halftime. The defense struggled to stop the pass game, but the offense succeeded in the own run game. Running back Tahj Brooks ran for 146 yards and a touchdown. The defense stepped up and got two interceptions, sealing the game against the horned frogs. This week the Red Raiders head to Lawrence to face the Jayhawks.

7. Iowa State (5-4, 4-2 conference)

Iowa State is a two-loss team in the Big 12, with their losses coming to Kansas and Oklahoma. They do have a quality win up their sleeve against Oklahoma State, which gives them the head-to-head upside. This week they played well against Kansas but came up short. Their running game struggled, only getting 75 yards on the ground. Quarterback Rocco Becht threw for 258 yards and no touchdowns, but an interception. Iowa State goes to BYU for a late-night game on Saturday.
