No. 6 Oregon: Selling

Oregon absolutely passes the eye test for me. The Ducks have looked great ever since their loss to Washington, but they still have a loss and it feels like everyone is ready to throw them in the top 4 already.

Sure, the Ducks beat up a Utah team that isn’t very good and doesn’t have a quarterback. That’s their best win. Other than that, it’s Portland State, Texas Tech, Hawaii, Colorado, Stanford, Washington State and Cal. None of those teams have winning records. I’ll sell on Oregon because this might be the peak.

The Pac-12 always finds a way to cannibalize itself and Oregon State is licking its lips like Jeffrey Dahmer with Washington and Oregon still left on the schedule.

No. 5 Washington: Buying

For some reason, it feels like most of the college football media wants to give Oregon more credit for the loss to Washington than it wants to give Washington for winning that game. It’s held up as this great loss, when it should also be considered one of the best wins of the season and have Washington in the top 3 right now.

Michael Penix Jr. is incredible and I’ll take him over Bo Nix right now. With the trio of receivers that Washington has and the emerging run game we saw take over with Dillon Johnson running for 256 yards and four touchdowns against USC, I like Washington’s offense better than every other team in the country.
