There’s no doubt about it, Michael Penix Jr. is the top contender through 10 weeks and he even had his own ‘Heisman moment’ against USC last week.

Penix Jr. has been leading the race pretty much all season and he even took over for Caleb Williams in the top spot a while ago. And it looks like he’s going to win the award barring some sort of epic meltdown in the final three weeks of the season.

Washington is 9-0 after beating USC on the road and Penix passed for 256 yards and two touchdowns with a pick. He needs to be smarter with the ball in the final three games if he’s going to win the award as he has five picks in his last four games which is a bit of a concern.

Yet he still leads one of the most explosive offenses in the country.

After playing well against USC with some incredible highlights along the way, Penix has locked up the No. 1 spot for the foreseeable future.
