Clemson football isn’t exactly having a great season. The Tigers have been eliminated from both ACC and national title contention with just a 5-4 record through nine games.

A lot of the disappointment this season has come on the offensive side of the ball.

This has become a theme at Clemson over the past few seasons without Trevor Lawrence as DJ Uiagalelei was a disappointing starter and has been replaced by Cade Klubnik who hasn’t exactly lit the world on fire.

But he also hasn’t gotten a ton of help from usual stars like Will Shipley.

The junior running back has had a bit of a disappointing season, averaging a career-low 4.6 yards per carry and he’s on pace to fall way short of the 1,000-yard mark that he hit in 2022.

That’ll be even harder to reach if he’s out this week against Georgia Tech.

Will Clemson football get Will Shipley back in Week 11?

Shipley missed last week’s game against Notre Dame and it was a good one for the Tigers as

According to an update from Dabo Swinney earlier this week, barring a setback (which hasn’t happened publicly), the Tigers fully expect the junior running back to suit up and play.

While that’s good news, I’d bet that fans are excited to see what they have in new leading rusher Phil Mafah who had a career-high 186 yards and three touchdowns in the win over Notre Dame. He’s averaging a career-best 5.7 yards per carry with eight scores this season.

But Clemson will now have options and a potential two-headed monster against a Georgia Tech defense that has the second-worst run defense in the nation, allowing 220 yards per game on the ground.

Getting Shipley back should boost this offense drastically.
