Texas A&M football: 5 ideal coaching candidates to replace Jimbo Fisher
After notching his sixth win of the season in blowout fashion, Jimbo Fisher was rewarded with a massive buyout and an early retirement. According to reports, the Texas A&M football coach has been fired by the university after falling flat two years in a row.
Fisher was hired away from Florida State by the Aggies back in 2018 and many believed he was going to lead Texas A&M to big things.
Well, he recruited at a high level, but the wins never really came consistently. Sure, he won at least eight games in his first four years, but he never won more than nine. And at Texas A&M, that’s just not going to cut it.
In the past two seasons, he compiled an 11-11 record and the university had enough and decided to buy out the rest of his massive contract on Sunday.
With all that being said, there’s a massive vacancy in College Station as Texas A&M figures to have the most attractive head coaching job in the country right now, rivaling Michigan State.
