Texas A&M football: 5 ideal coaching candidates to replace Jimbo Fisher
3. Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss
Just how loyal is Lane Kiffin to Ole Miss? At the moment, it seems like he’s extremely loyal and he loves the program in Oxford, but after facing some backlash this week for comments he made toward a player trying to take a mental health break, he might feel that it’s worth his time to start fresh again somewhere else.
Texas A&M could be that place.
The Aggies are all about winning now and winning big and what better way to prove that you’re willing to do that than by poaching one of the best coaches from the SEC?
Landing Kiffin would cause waves in the SEC and it would change the entire landscape because he knows how to win in this conference and he’s arguably done a better job of that at Ole Miss than any coach has in a long time. Getting a guy who knows the conference and is having success at a less powerful program would be huge.
Imagine the kind of damage Kiffin could do on the recruiting trail at Texas A&M with all of that NIL money and resources. He’d land top-five classes every year.
