Big 12

Dec. 2 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas

The Big 12 is the only Power 5 conference without an undefeated team (Michigan/Ohio State, Georgia, Washington, Florida State). All five of these teams have lost to at least one of the other top-five teams, making this a very convoluted net of tie-breaking.

Eligible Teams:

  1. Texas (6-1)
Clinching scenario: Win at Iowa State and Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, and Kansas State all lose.
  2.  Oklahoma State (5-2)
Staying-Alive-Scenario: Win at Houston (They will need an Iowa State loss eventually)
  3. Oklahoma (5-2)
Staying-Alive-Scenario: Win at BYU (They will need an Oklahoma State loss eventually)
  4. Iowa State (5-2)
Staying-Alive-Scenario: Win vs. Texas (They will need an Oklahoma Loss eventually)
  5. Kansas State (5-2)
Staying-Alive-Scenario: Win at Kansas (They, too, will need an Oklahoma State loss eventually)

It’s impossible for all five teams to win out and for these results to hold; Texas visits Iowa State this week, and then Iowa State visits Kansas State to finish the season. If Oklahoma and Oklahoma State win out while Iowa State wins out as well, Iowa State will take the first bid with Texas behind. In the case of a Kansas State vs. Oklahoma tie, Oklahoma takes priority since they have a better record against common opponents.

Big 12 tiebreaker procedure.
