The nation’s most improved player may have become college football’s best and most valuable player.

The former Auburn quarterback has turned his career around in Eugene and Bo Nix has gone from disappointing blue-chipper to exceeding expectations in the span of a couple of years. His Auburn career was forgetful, outside of his freshman year, and his Oregon career is Heisman-worthy.

After passing for a career-high 3,593 yards and 29 touchdowns last season, he’s having an even better 2023 campaign.

After passing for 412 yards and four touchdowns in a 36-27 win over USC, Nix now has 3,135 yards and 29 touchdowns with just two picks, a 78 percent completion rate, and a career-high 9.4 yards per attempt.

On top of that, his passer rating is the highest it’s been in his career by about 20 points. He’s been fantastic.

If the Heisman Trophy was awarded today, Nix may very well pull off the upset.
