Jordan Travis tragically goes down with ugly leg injury
What a horrendous night it’s been for not just Florida State fans, but college football fans, too. Heisman candidate and leader of the 10-0 Seminoles, Jordan Travis, went down with a horrific leg injury in the first half.
I would advise you not to watch the video of the injury if you’re squeamish because it’s definitely not for the faint of heart. For that reason, we will not be posting the video.
But this was a devastating blow for the Seminoles who were expecting to roll to a big win over North Alabama before facing rival Florida next week. Unfortunately, Travis’ injury seemed to have affected the team emotionally as they looked devastated. It’s hard to try and play a football game when you lose a leader and good friend like Travis who’s so well-liked by his peers.
Florida State is absolutely going to miss Travis not only as a player but as a person. He’s one of the best guys to be around and you can tell by the way his teammates reacted.
I hope that he bounces back from this injury to be the player he has the potential to be.
Who is Jordan Travis’ backup?
With Travis going down tragically, everyone’s attention quickly turned to the backup. Who would be coming in for the Heisman contender?
The answer? Junior quarterback Tate Rodemaker. The 6-foot-4, 218-pound former three-star from the 2020 recruiting class has obviously played sparingly behind Travis. But he’s a veteran at this point in his career and he’ll add to the eight attempts he’s had all year on Saturday night against North Alabama.
We’ll see how he fills the massive shoes of Travis.
