Looking back at College Football Week 12, Michigan football and Ohio State are set for their showdown, plus a bad week for Lincoln Riley, and more.

It was another consequential week of college football, at least in some ways. In terms of the national title race, not much changed.

Michigan survived against Maryland. Ohio State rolled Minnesota, and Georgia beat down another ranked team, causing some to ask, can anyone beat the Bulldogs?

It’s a question I have been asking since the first week of the college football season. Unlike the College Football Playoff committee, my rankings have never wavered. Someone has to prove they can beat Georgia before I’ll believe it and right now, I don’t believe there is another college football team that can beat the Bulldogs.

Alabama is probably the best chance. Michigan football is another threat, but only if the Wolverines can survive Ohio State and get Jim Harbaugh back.

On Saturday, a Michigan team that didn’t look like itself barely survived against Maryland, which is where we start with our winners and losers from College Football Week 12.

College Football Week 12 Winner: College football fans

It wasn’t pretty. But Michigan doesn’t need style points. Michigan needs wins. Now, the Wolverines just need one more.

That would get Jim Harbaugh back on the sidelines, as long as nothing else bad happens between now and then, and would set the stage for an interesting Big Ten title game.

However, Michigan didn’t look like a team capable of beating Ohio State on Saturday. They haven’t been the same without Jim Harbaugh and we’ll see if that’s enough to beat the Buckeyes.

Either way, college football fans are the big winners heading into next Saturday. That clash of titans should be epic and a loss by either team would have taken off some luster.

Now, we get a top-three showdown with the drama of a pro-wrestling match. Cannot wait.
